On October 15th, 2009, Encinitas Preservation Association Board Member Matthew Gelbman applied for a American Planning Association Grant on behalf of the Encinitas Preservation Association.

The Grant was awarded on December 14th 2009.

On March 10th 2010, the LiDAR scan of the Boathouses took place.
